First, let me introduce myself. My name is Ivy, and I am the person behind this cosy art blog. I’m a writer and artist originally from Hungary, who lived in London for almost a decade. More recently I’ve been living in Sydney, Australia for almost another decade now, and very likely to stick around here for the rest of my life.
Writing science fiction, fantasy, and making fantasy-inspired art what I do outside my 9-5 job that involves a lot of management and website development. As someone who spends a significant portion of their day optimising a website, it felt appropriate to start a website for myself on the topics that interest me outside of work. And while I’ve tried starting some kind of hybrid newsletter on Substack and Beehiiv and other similar platform, none of them gave me the creative control that I have with my own site. This is how FableQuill Studio was born.

What is FableQuill Studio?
I want FableQuill Studio to be the home of magic. A cosy online space where multi-passionate creatives can explore the spark behind fantasy-inspired art, fiction writing, and visual storytelling. Bookish aesthetics, magical illustrations, and nature-inspired art are all things I’m drawn to, and hope to share more of.
For now, FableQuill Studio is a blog. What it will become depends on a lot of things, but mostly on you, the readers.
My goal with FableQuill Studio is to share my journey as an artist and a writer. I hope my experience will help out other multi-passionate creatives who struggle to balance creating with maintaining a busy life. I don’t just want to give you productivity tips around how to squeeze even more into your schedule. There’s definitely enough of that out there. I know this, because I’m what Anne-Laure Le Cunff called a “recovering productivity junkie” in her book, Tiny Experiments. The person who tried every trick, used every system, and while I could say a lot about them, it isn’t why I’m here.
I want this place to be more than that. FableQuill Studio is a cosy place for tired creatives to come and recharge and find that magical spark again. Let me offer you a cup of virtual herbal tea or hot chocolate, sit down with you and let’s unlock miracles together.

What will I be writing about?
To begin with, I’ll share a little bit about me, my process and what are the things I’m working on, especially in the visual art space. I’ll share my experimental approach to art (next week!), and how that’s been working out for me, that will hopefully inspire some of you to join me.
I want to share art tips and tricks that I’ve learned along the way.
Write about, and showcase art that inspires me and hopefully interview some amazing artists and authors to provide us with even more inspiration.
I want to explore the intersection of visual art and storytelling, may there be bookish themes, game art and illustrations, TV, film or other media, or simply things that artists and writers can learn from each other to enhance their craft.
But most of all, I want FableQuill Studio to be the cosy art blog where creatives can come to recharge and feel good. A place for playful creativity. I hope you stick around.
